Ace IT recently assisted three of our clients in achieving the Cyber Essentials accreditation. This government backed scheme allows organisations to show that they are taking suitable steps to protect themselves from cyber attack.
To earn the accreditation organisations must complete an online assessment on how they manage their IT security along with an external vulnerability scan. Working with our clients we reviewed their current infrastructure and reported back on the necessary changes to bring them up to the level required for Cyber Essentials. Once the changes had been implemented we assisted in completing the online application which was then successfully graded by our Cyber Essentials partner IT Governance.
Typically Ace IT works with many small and medium organisations in an Advisor or IT Manager role making us ideally placed to review and implement IT security processes and procedures. The assessment covers five control subjects: Firewalls, Patching, Access Control, Malware Protection and Secure Configuration.
Two of the clients have around 40 employees with people working both in and out of the office. By making sure that they are using secure remote working technologies they can easily scale their businesses whilst also keeping their data secure.

We assisted a third client with their annual assessment for Cyber Essentials Plus. The plus level means that the certification body will themselves look at the systems using their own security tools. This is the fourth year we have helped our client with their renewal and with over 150 users working all over the UK it’s important that we keep their data secure both in the office and on the road.
